PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Our Graphic & UI/UX Design program equips students with the skills to create visually compelling designs and user-focused digital experiences. Combining creativity with cutting-edge technology, the program covers visual communication, branding, user research, prototyping, and responsive design using tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Sketch.

With hands-on projects, industry collaboration, and portfolio development, graduates are prepared for careers as graphic and UI/UX designers, crafting impactful designs for print, digital, and interactive platforms. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental principles of design, visual arts, and spatial relationships. Through a combination of theoretical exploration and hands-on practice, students will develop essential skills in drawing, color theory, digital tools, and material applications, laying the groundwork for future design disciplines. Key areas of study include design orientation and creative problem-solving, fundamental drawing techniques for visual communication, and color theory, focusing on harmony, contrast, and psychological effects. Students will also gain practical experience in digital design tools, solid geometry for three-dimensional design, and understanding materials and fabrication processes. Additionally, the course covers space, structure, and form interactions and provides an inter-design study of rural and urban environments, analyzing their spatial and environmental influences.

This program offers a comprehensive foundation in user-centered design, digital media, and graphic communication, equipping students with the technical and creative skills needed for modern design practices. Through a blend of theory and hands-on learning, students will explore key aspects of visual language, typography, digital tools, ergonomics, branding, and user experience, using industry-standard software. Students will gain expertise in graphic design history and semiotics, corporate identity development, and product photography, while mastering Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign for professional digital design. The curriculum also covers publication design for print and web, ergonomic design principles, and user experience research methods to enhance usability. Additionally, students will learn task analysis and system visualization techniques to develop effective workflow solutions.

This course delves into advanced concepts in digital media, interaction design, and brand communication, equipping students with the skills to develop immersive and impactful design solutions. Through hands-on projects and industry-standard tools, students will gain expertise in motion graphics, user experience (UX), interface design, and emerging digital technologies. Students will explore tangible interaction design, strategic branding solutions, and information design through infographics and wayfinding systems. They will develop skills in video editing, motion graphics, and VFX using Adobe Premiere and After Effects while learning packaging design and its role in branding. Additionally, the course covers UI/UX principles, web and mobile app design, and design management techniques, helping students build a strong analytical and strategic approach to design. Looking ahead, students will also examine interaction design and usability trends for the future in design for 2050.

The final semester of the Graphics & UI/UX program is designed to prepare students for professional careers in graphic design, user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design, digital media, and interactive design by bridging the gap between academic training and industry expectations. This phase focuses on advanced design techniques, portfolio development, and hands-on industry experience, ensuring graduates are job-ready and competitive in the creative field. Students will build a high-quality, industry-standard portfolio, showcasing their expertise in visual design, typography, branding, user experience strategies, wireframing, prototyping, and interactive design. This portfolio will be tailored to meet industry standards, supporting job applications, freelance opportunities, and entrepreneurial ventures. Additionally, students will gain real-world industry experience through internships or cooperative placements, allowing them to apply their skills to professional design projects, collaborate with industry experts, and develop a deep understanding of design workflows, user-centered methodologies, and product development pipelines.

Criteria for Selection

Applicants are selected based on their academic achievement, including the required courses, and any other selection criteria outlined below.

  • High school graduate or equivalent. **
  • Completion of relevant courses in art, design, or computer studies is an asset.
  • A portfolio showcasing creative work, such as sketches, 3D models, or digital artwork, is encouraged to demonstrate interest and aptitude will be an added benefit.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D software or design tools (e.g., Blender, Maya) is a plus but not mandatory.
  • A brief statement outlining your interest in the program and career goals. **
  • Mature student status (16 years of age or older).**
  • Students must go through 3 phases of tests. ** Studio Test, Aptitude Test, Final Interview.
  • Ability to complete college assignments on time.
  • Openness toward learning.
  • Ability to do team workshops.
